The Lake Superior Court, County Division 3 has returned to in-person court appearances effective this date in both the criminal/traffic courtroom and the small claims courtroom.
- All court hearings will be held in-person. Zoom is available on a limited basis if you have tested positive for Covid, been exposed to someone with Covid, have some other illness or live more than 150 miles away, but contact must be made prior to the hearing for permission from the court. A request to appear by zoom must be made in writing and can be emailed to the court HERE, sent by fax to 219-755-3606 for criminal/traffic hearings, 219-755-3654 for small claims/civil hearings or can be mailed to the court at 2293 N. Main Street, Crown Point, IN 46307. BE SPECIFIC AS TO WHY YOU CANNOT APPEAR IN PERSON. The court will issue an order in response to a request to appear by zoom and, if granted, will provide the zoom ID information.
- The in-custody calls will continue to be at their usual times on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m., and will ONLY be held via zoom. Properly executed written waivers must be filed prior to the proceedings.

If you are not vaccinated the wearing of facial coverings in the courtroom is requested.
