Lake County Fairgrounds

The Lake County Fairgrounds offers an array of activities for all to enjoy. Every day walkers, joggers and fishermen typically use the fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds is open 365 days with no parking/entry fee. (*Exception for some events) We have a variety of buildings and shelters for rent for picnics, reunions, organization fundraisers, weddings and anniversaries.

The Fairgrounds hosts the only covered bridge in Lake County. The Shelhorn or Milroy Covered Bridge was built in Rush County in 1878.Through the preservation efforts of John Wheeler and the WPA of 1933 the bridge was dismantled and rebuilt at its present site.

The Fairgrounds provide an attractive setting with historic buildings, tree covered rambling walking paths, Fancher Lake and the historic Grandstand.

The Fairgrounds is the proud site of the**Lake County Agricultural Society’s annual County Fair. One of the largest County Fairs in Indiana where you can see 4H displays, beef cattle, dairy cows, hogs and sows and piglets and entertainment events with Fair food and carnival rides.

We look forward to hosting your next event. Please call and reserve one of the facilities for your next party or event. Come visit the Fairgrounds where the past is always present.
